Vandyke Brownprint Process
Van Dyke Brownprint is a process developed by Arndt & Troos in 1889. It uses Silver Nitrate and Ferric Ammonium CItrate (Brown Flakes) to create a monochromatic "Van Dyke Brown" print that develops in water and fixes in a gentle bath of hypo fix (sodium thiosulfate).
Our Van Dyke solution comes ready to go as a liquid, already mixed up for you! The kit comes with the hypo fix, everything you need in one!
For this process, we recommend using 100% cotton rag paper! Arches Platine, Revere Platinum, and Hahnemuhle Platinum Rag are very suitable choices for this process!
